It’s Monday morning, and this morning it was important for me to set the day the way that I wanted it to continue. Not just the day, set the week in the right way.
You might be asking how could I do that? How would I know that something that I did would set up a whole week, especially with all those variables of having children?
It’s really simple. Be the first person awake and dressed in your house. Be the first person to have a drink of water, fuel your body, set the table. Be the person that is calm and settled before anyone else gets up. It is really that simple. If you are the person who is in the kitchen/ living room before the kids get up, there is less chance that the TV goes on in the morning, saving you the argument later when you need it to go off so that they finally get dressed, finally eat their breakfast, or get ready for school.
The other thing I do first thing in the morning is to do some meditation to music, then as I continue with my water with lemon juice, yoga, journaling, eating my breakfast or anything else, I keep the music going. Children are much calmer when the first sounds they hear are soothing and calming.
