It’s been a frustratingly slow morning. The kids just wanted to play, helI, I just wanted to play … On my computer, watch TV, laze around, drink coffee – I had a headache, my nose was congested, and even though the fire was going, I was cold, grumpy and out of sorts. It’s the sort of day where you just want to go back to bed, but no, I came right, the minute if got myself some sun.
It’s the beginning of Autumn, but feels like winter, and as the first sliver of sunlight started peaking out from behind the clouds it was like a magic formula had been sprinkled on me. My headache lifted, my energy returned, and my motivation to achieve my planned work for the day was back.
So, the next time that I want to dive back to bed, and force the kids to watch TV to help us bring up our moods, and energy through resting, I’m going to remember this lesson. Some fresh air and a sliver of sunlight was much more effective.
