I go on about this a lot – but I truly believe that the morning does not have to be a stressful beast, of yelling at your children, rushing out the door and forgetting crucial things for the day.
Be organised – have a list of what needs to happen in the morning and refer to it.
Be organised – have a list for your kids for what they need to do in the morning and let them tick things off as they finish them.
Be organised – if you know that you hate making lunches in the morning, make them the night before and they’ll be all ready and waiting when you wake up. If you know that you have vacuuming to do, do it before you go to bed in the ad breaks of your favourite programme.
It’s not rocket science. I hear a lot, that some people just aren’t that organised, and aren’t morning people so it would never work for them. They see the word ‘organised’ and have heart palpitations.
It doesn’t have to be that bad – your list could be as short as 3 or 4 things (get dressed, eat breakfast, clean teeth, brush hair) – If you know you are not a morning person you don’t have to try and fit too much in. The panic often sets in when we try and do things like vacuum or fold washing as we are trying to rush out the door.
Decide what’s important, write it down and stick to it. There’s no harm in giving it a go – being organised a little is not as scary as you might think.
