Falling into the trap of just doing stuff cause that’s what you always do, is a very real thing. Just because filling your Mum Glow cup last week included a fantastic solo run on Monday morning, doesn’t mean that that’ll be the answer this week.
Your Mum Glow cup is all about filling you up, and fueling you, to be the best mum that you can be through taking some Happiness for yourself. It’s very easy to just do the same old, same old, and call that your Happy time. Is it really? There is pleasure from getting the same thing done absolutely, but your Mum Glow should come because you have really prioritised yourself.
For me, that means that even though I am sitting here feeling organised on a Monday morning, my running gear on, my children all preparing for the day, my green smoothie at my side, everything coming up roses, it still isn’t quite it. I need to really think about what I need this week just for me …
People. I need people. Friends that I haven’t touched base with for a while.
So coffee with one friend on Wednesday, another coming out to visit on Thursday, and will try, spontaneously, see a friend this afternoon. I feel like I’ve isolated myself a little lately, and I am seeing the same people again and again – this week I need variety and good friends to fill up my Mum Glow.
