It’s one of those weeks.
Youngest son has school visits, older kids have ice skating over three days, I’m in and out of town like a jumping frog …. And every time I walk back into the house I’m aware that there is a lot of stuff in the house that I just haven’t done!
Benches not wiped down, a fine layer of ash laying over the living room, washing pile over-flowing, clean washing not quite put away … Just a list of stuff that I’m not quite on top of. Visitors, friends, no-one would really know, and in fact there isn’t really anything wrong, it’s just I know that this week I have to let it all go.
Letting go of the un-important things is sometimes the hardest thing that we do as parents … This week it’s more important that I pick up my son from his school visit, this week it’s more important that I support my son in his school visit by being parent help. This week it’s more important that I also be parent support for my daughter on her school trip …. This week I am happy to be letting everything else go, and enjoy my kids.
