The school holidays are over, the kids are all back at school, and I’m wondering where to start … so many things got put on the back-burner during the holidays, ready and waiting for me to pick up and do at the beginning of the school term.
It’s really easy to become relaxed, blah, enjoy your TV, your couch, catch up with friends, have numerous cups of coffee, and then get to the end of the day, and realise that you haven’t actually got anything achieved.
Here are some really useful tips to enjoy your first days back to a normal routine…
- Write a list – it’s so important to be organised when you want to get your routines up and working again.
- Get things done early – if you’ve been on holiday with your kids, then you will start to fade in the afternoon. Get the jobs done in the morning, and enjoy catching up with friends, or doing fun stuff, in the afternoon – not the other way round.
- Be easy on yourself – any changes in your routine, or getting back to routine, take a bit of patience, a bit of a sense of humour, and can be stressful for kids and adults alike. Try and ease yourself back in, or if you are the type to jump in with two feet then be patient with those family members that struggle with it.
