I’m sitting here today, and I’m tired.
Straight up. Can’t be bothered, and tired.
There’s no real reason. I’m sleeping well, and I’m in bed, lights out around 9.30pm. I didn’t wake in the night, and the kids didn’t disturb me. I’m feeling fit, and didn’t spend a big weekend out partying. So what is going on?
We all go through these cycles where we just feel ‘blah’ for no good reason that we can think of. It could be emotional, it could be that there is a lot on your mind that you aren’t dealing with, it could even be the energy in the moon …lol!
It doesn’t always have to make sense, but it’s not a nice funk to be in, and it doesn’t spell out happy parenting. So how do we get ourselves out of it?
- Be honest with yourself – do you just need a mental day off? Or do you actually just need to get stuff done. These always go together, like two sides of the coin, and if you don’t feel better after you’ve had a day off, it might mean that you picked the wrong thing, so tomorrow get that ‘stuff’ done!
- Do you need to fuel yourself up properly? Eating and drinking certain foods, at certain times of the day make a big impact. (Actually that is probably the problem for me today – I’ve upped my exercise but haven’t fuelled myself to cater for the extra exercise, and I certainly haven’t had enough water today!)
- Do you need a big cry? Or a fun, laugh out-loud day with people? Once again two sides of the coin. Sometimes we can take life a bit seriously and need a bit more FUN in our life to lighten the mood. At other times, we’ve let things build and build, and a good cry is all we need to release the negative energy to feel better.
Why do you get yourself into a funky, bad-mood, tired, blah day?
And how do you get yourself out of it?
