Starting the day is a big deal for me.
If I stay in bed, and read, check Facebook, or try and eke out the last minutes of sleep that I can, I find that I am moody, tired, and chasing my tail before 8am.
For me it is really important to roll out of bed at a set time and do some exercise. I’ve tried various things over the years – yoga, pilates, journaling, working, writing, computer work – but nothing gets my really going except exercise – and the last two weeks I have come back to this routine. I get up at 5.30am, get dressed quickly into sports gear, and come out to the living room to do 40-50mins of cardio or weights. I’ve built up a bit of a library of DVD’s over the years, and the internet is a great source of new workouts and ideas for weights workouts.
I know that this is not for everyone, but I never knew that this was for me either until I tried it – so if you are struggling in the mornings, and feeling tired and run-down before the day has even started – take some time this week to try something different….
You might just find that ‘thing’ that gets you going in the mornings!
