Yesterday afternoon was parent/teacher conferences at my kids school … And it was optional.
I was informed a number of times that it was optional, and that I didn’t need to go unless I had concerns. The thing is, for me, if I have the opportunity to have a sit-down conversation with my kids school teachers then I am a happy mum. Other mums are happier if they don’t have to see the teacher … That there is no reason for them to see the teacher.
What I notice about the parent/teacher conferences is that my kids got to sit down and hear really positive things from their teachers …and that made them really happy and proud too. So that is an added bonus for my kids, while they also see that their teacher and their parents are on the same page.
What do you think? Is it a good thing for you to talk to the teachers? Or are you just happy you don’t have to?
