This week one of my focuses has been to touch base one-on-one with some of my friends. It’s really easy to get caught up with social gatherings, passing people by in the street saying you ‘should catch up’ and then letting opportunities pass you by, and not making enough of an effort to make it happen.
I remind myself that one of my ‘Happy’ things is to meet up with people – it fills me up with Mum Glow, and gives me Fleeting Happiness all in one go – even if it is just for 30 mins – doing the things that make you happy are guaranteed to help you keep your temper, your patience, your equilibrium, your balance when you are in your role as ‘Mum’.
Everywhere I go – everyone is saying that their children are tired. It is fact. What we forget is what that does to us. It drains us of our energy, and we lose our balance, and we snap. We react, rather than plan, we allow situations to go too far, because we are just hoping that it’ll sort itself out without our interference. When everything is going well, this works. When kids are tired it doesn’t. When kids are tired – we use up more of our energy to keep things on track, and we use up our Mum Glow.
Fill up your Mum Glow cup – think about what you can do today to bring some Happiness into your life today.
