It’s suddenly a big deal – colouring books for adults. I heard about it online, I saw it in the shop, and then a friend told me that she got one for Mother’s Day. It’s a big deal.
Apparently it’s meditative, creative, puts our minds in a place of peace, and …. FUN.
And my kids are back into it as well. Just the last couple of mornings they have dragged out the colouring book box, made a mess with all the felts, and pencils, but it’s fun, it’s relatively quiet, and the need to colour had them organized for school so early this morning it was ridiculous – I hadn’t even had a shower before I realized that they were into it.
Messy – yes
Fun – yes
A ‘New’ Craze – I’m not sure – cause I remember doing this once upon a time before …. Like when I was 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and even when I was 12 ……
New? – no
A craze – yes
but if the kids are back into it again – I’m not too worried. Of course I don’t have an adult colouring book yet, and I’m not sure I’m getting one. We have plenty of half used colouring books in our house that I’m sure I can raid if I feel the urge.
