Honesty needed here.
Today I haven’t done very much. A couple of emails, some important conversations but I’m “watching” my kids do their karate training and I can’t believe that the whole day has gone past. A basket of wet washing was supposed to be hung out, the second load is still in the machine, and I cannot remember what I did instead.
Today is a day where the things that I actually have done don’t feel very important. They feel little and insignificant and I feel a little guilty that I didn’t proritise more important things.
And yet, that is the catch that we mums find ourselves in. The little things still needed doing but we don’t acknowledge that, we just feel guilty.
And sometimes we just need a quiet day. A day of ticking things over.
Guilt can sneak in unexpectedly. If you feel like you have under achieved today?
- Take a breath
- Write a wee list for tomorrow
- And then enjoy the rest of your quiet day.
There is no sense in panicking at 5pm and turning yourself into a crazy mum. Let it go, and start again tomorrow with a clear head.
You will probably be more efficient and productive having had today easy.
