This is such an important point.
Sometimes we are so busy worrying about our children. Juggling their individual needs, and our family values, while trying desperately not to screw it up, that we forget about ourselves.
We forget about nurturing our own ‘self’.
For this has never been more evident than the weekend just been. I thought things were going pretty good, I thought that I was happily doing jobs and participating in the family things, and yet my hubby commented on how grumpy I was. I didn’t even know I was being grumpy!
I’ve come out of a really busy time – my book, my show, my coaching, my local mums evenings, and choreographing for my next teaching gig – and I’d forgotten to care for myself. Keeping my #mumglow filled up.
Now this isn’t for everyone, but for me I instantly found some energy and some motivation when this morning I woke up and I wrote a list. Suddenly the sun shone brighter, the jobs seemed less draining, and the kids easier.
Being a parent isn’t just about looking after your kids, it’s about looking after you too…. so that you can BE the parent that you want to be.
By signing up to my newsletter you can get a free mini ebook, which runs through some basic questions that help you with identifying personality, just like if you did it with your kids, you can match the questions to you.
