There is always last minute stuff that seems to need to happen on Christmas Eve.
The parcels you forgot to wrap, the Santa letter and food to leave out on Christmas Eve, the last bit of pre-food prep to do before family descends on Christmas Day.
Also juggling the crazy excited children who won’t go to sleep, and who giggle and play with the cousins, or just with each other. Sometimes, when you get to Christmas Eve it’s okay to just be hoping for it all to be over. Sometimes, the anticipation is unbearable. Maybe you have to do Christmas away from home, or with your in-laws, or in a slightly different way than you had hoped.
But enjoy the magic too.
I love the magic. Love the wonder. The whole time around Christmas and the lead up to it with all the anticipation is an important part of who I am.
I absolutely believe in Santa – in our house that’s the key. If you believe in it, then magic happens, and all the good stuff that makes this time of the year special happens.
My hubby may say that I can go a little over the top – but this is all the special stuff that is allowed to happen at this time of the year. We can let the inner child out, and drink and be merry. Eat and sing and dance, enjoy strangers and family alike, and let the seriousness, that may have been apart of the year that was, go.
Get excited today and watch the joy grow in your children too.
