This is what it feels like this week.
Not that I want to refer to parenting as ‘war’ but on some level, the nutting down and sorting the kids back into routine, and then firing them off to school feels a bit like that.
This morning, all bags were packed and sitting at the door ready to go. Luckily I ended up being the last one out, because even though there were 4 children in the car ready for the school drop off, there was still 1x school bag, 1x PE bag, and 1x pair of sandals sitting in the entrance-way.
One child just decided to not put shoes on today?
Hadn’t I just told the kids to get their bags?!!!!
Groundhog orders. Constantly on repeat, and still not followed through with.
I did think, for a fleeting moment, that I could just carry everything that had been left in the house to the car myself, before I remembered that it was them that wanted to get to school early, not me, and actually I needed to just knuckle down and do my bit and help them with their bit.
So, 2 children had to return to the house and get their things.
Just one of those days!
