Do you like to be ramping up the family for the weekend? Or easing your foot off the peddle and chilling?
There are a couple of ways that Friday can look in my house. I am either on a mission to get everything sorted and done so I don’t need to do it on the weekend, or I’m ‘over it’, no longer care, and let the house turn into the mess it seems to naturally gravitate towards. There’s no right answer, and in fact your house on a Friday may look different again.
My kids are different at the end of the week too.
One is so over stimulation and people that he hides away in his room playing happily by himself, while his brother starts trying to organise the weekend already, checking in with what’s on the radar, and letting me know what he wants to do. My daughter is hiding too, reading, and my oldest son is wired, twitchy, and we have one more day to get through.
I’m either calm and relaxed or stressed and crazy. Or wavering in between the two. Friday isn’t my favourite day of the week. It’s so changeable and dependent on what’s happened the days previous or on what’s about to happen on the weekend.
Kids are often tired by the time Friday comes around, and we still have a weekend of sport ahead. Everything that I want to get done without kids has to happen today or wait till next week. Any plans that are sorted for the weekend need to be organised, and any jobs not completed need done today too.
How does your Friday look?
