I have a novel start to the new term … I am teaching for the next 2 weeks.
So, as well as getting my children to school, I will have to get myself organised and back to school too.
I love teaching, love kids, but I am under no illusions that the juggle of full time work, 4 kids and a new term, with new expectations and new routines will be tiring. Plus I am teaching outside of my comfort zone, so there is a little bit of nervousness.
Nervousness as a parent often looks like irritation and frustration to kids as we cope less with the normal things as our minds are taken over by the stress of being nervous.
To lessen the chance of “grumpy-mum” I am taking the time to get myself organised:
- lists for the morning routines for the week
- lists for the after school plans and activities
- an online supermarket shop
- and setting my alarm early so I can get some exercise in first thing.
I do often start the new terms with organisation in the forefront of my mind, but I am taking it to a new level as I am very aware that disorganisation, and forgetting plans are triggers for me getting annoyed and irritated with anyone in my path.
How are you preparing for the new term?
