If it’s broken, fix it.
If it’s not working, change it.
If you are constantly frustrated by your kids, their behaviour, your fear of failing, your lack of knowledge, then try something different.
I am so impressed with those parents that know what they do and don’t want, and work hard to have the family-life that they choose. Instead of getting frustrated, or angry, or upset at what isn’t working, they go out and figure it out or get help.
We have so many barriers up now, where it is difficult to admit that we are struggling or that our home life isn’t as calm as we pretend that it is. It used to be that we were ‘Keeping up with the Jones’ that materialistic time of having everything. Now it’s about being zen, balanced, having perfect home/work/life balance, taking the best Facebook selfies showing how ‘connected’ as a family we are.
But it’s never showing any of the struggles or the frustration, or the feeling of failure, of not knowing what to do.
The thing is this:
- if something hasn’t been going well in your kids behaviour then it probably isn’t going to miraculously suddenly turn perfect by itself
- if what you are doing hasn’t changed the behaviour or improved it… Then it probably isn’t just going to get better by itself
- if your kids are running the house, ignoring the rules, and you feel like you have no control … That isn’t just going to fix itself.
If what you are doing in your home, raising your kids, isn’t working – then try something different!
Read some books, look up online, talk to a friend about your options, get an expert in for you or for your kids. Change something.
You can have your first consult with me absolutely FREE. There is no obligation to work further with me, if that initial conversation is all that you need. If you need more, then I can offer that too. I love it when I can help parents get to a place in their parenting where they are happy and confident that they know what they are doing.
The most important thing is to talk to someone and try something different.
