We all have these little jobs that seem to catch us out every year. They seem to be never-ending, and they were never a problem before we had kids, and we really just struggle to get them done.
For me, one of these jobs that never gets completely sorted, and never stays sorted when I’m finally sick of it enough to organise is the “Shoe-box”.
Not a little shoe-box, which I think is half the problem…. shoes that are too small, too tatty, broken, odd socks, and random leftovers from BBQ’s get thrown in the ‘Shoe-box’ and they never get seen again.
Or I get more and more irritated by the mess around the shoe box, which are the shoes that actually fit my kids that I finally ‘think’ about doing something about it.
I say ‘Think’ because I’m thinking about the nightmare job ahead, and I even took a photo, and yet I’m sitting inside the house typing away on my computer rather than cleaning out the shoe-box!
But it’s made me think about those ‘jobs’ that we get as parents that we never ever thought could or would become a problem. And they turn into those niggly irritations that we NEVER get to, because they are never that big of a problem to warrant being a priority.
My goal this Spring though, is to tackle some of these spaces that I NEVER get to.
The Shoe-box is my first task – wish me luck!
