The moments of perfection are sometimes so small that we wonder what the point is. And this is normal, because we are almost pre-programmed into seeing the BAD stuff that is going on in our lives.
But the moments of perfection grow when they are focused on. I also call this my Fleeting Moments of Happiness, when everything seems to be working for that special moment, and then it is gone.
But the feeling lingers if you let it, so it isn’t wasted.
– I am up and tired this morning, but the moment of perfection is that ‘ I am up by myself ‘ – no children have come into my space yet. So even though I am grumpy and tired, and struggling to get motivated, I am being given the time to re-settle, to do the work anyway, to tick something off my list, and have the space to get me back on track without children in the space muddying the waters. And that is the PERFECT thing for me right now.
– I am listening to a motivating Facebook Livestream while I sit here, which is also PERFECT.
A lot of the time, we forget to focus on the things that are going right. And I get it! I feel like being grumpy this morning, I feel like going back to bed, I feel like doing the bare-minimum and I REALLY don’t feel like doing any work this morning.
But, I’ve been doing this for a while now, and I know that it all gets better if I CHOOSE to focus on the Moments of Perfection, and the Fleeting Moments of Happiness, that help raise my vibe up, and help get me into the right frame of mind, so that I can show up FULLY as the Mum that I WANT TO BE, when my kids walk in to my space for breakfast.
None of us, wake up in the morning, and DECIDE to be the GRUMPY mum.
None of us, CHOOSE to yell at our kids every morning as something that we WANT to do.
None of us, WANT to feel OUT OF CONTROL and acting in a way that causes tears and stress.
All of this stuff does happen, and sometimes it happens so frequently that we feel like it IS just the WAY IT IS and that there is NOTHING we can do about it.
We wake up and feel like we are strong, and we want to do it all different this morning, and then the kids do something to annoy us, so it’s NOT really out fault that we started yelling again? HMMMMMM
It’s not quite that simple.
If you are not focusing on the Moments of Perfection, then you will NEVER figure this out. Your default is to focus on the Moments of Chaos, and it takes a DECISION from you to change things up.
And not, just a fleeting thought that you want to do it differently. I mean, it takes you recommitting EVERY moment that you are looking to find the Perfection in Each Moment, rather than focusing on the Chaos.
And this takes practice, and specific focus questions, to have you change the whole way that you see your home and family.
And this is what I am doing my next training on.
