I’ve been thinking about this lately… a work/ home/ life balance – isn’t that what we all strive for?
And isn’t that what we all feel like we are failing at, at different times?
I’ve got a new kind of thought – I do believe that BALANCE is important, but I also think we have got our thoughts around what ‘Balance’ means a little confused. For me, I feel balanced when I am happy in my family, happy in my work, happy in myself. No grumpiness, frustration, losing it at children who don’t really deserve it.
The general consensus is that if you get the timing, and balance right between work and home then this elusive BALANCE will happen.
My theory is THIS:
If we get the BALANCE right between MUM GLOW and ENERGY output then we will achieve BALANCE and HAPPINESS in our life.
The illusive Happiness happens when we keep our Mum Glow up enough that we keep our energy and Happiness high. When we get depleted with Mum Glow, (self love), then it is almost impossible to enjoy anything we do without getting frustrated, or feeling like we are chasing our tail.
If our Mum Glow cup is full, then we have energy, we enjoy our life, we smile more, we feel like we can cope with issues – it is a really good clue for me that when I start feeling the slide into annoyance at issues with my children that I have slipped on the Balance beam, and need to ACTIVELY ENJOY something just for me, just to fill me up, just in my own space.
With a full Mum Glow cup, I enjoy the time I have with my children, I enjoy my work, and I have space to exercise and feel good in my own skin. Isn’t this what BALANCE is supposed to look like?
